COMING TO THERAPY
People don’t contact a therapist because they think they may need someone to talk to in the future. They get in touch because they have a pressing issue that has accelerated to a point that is hard to manage , or they are dealing with someone else’s behaviour spiralling out of control.
It may be workplace stress, relationship worries, family problems that cannot be contained anymore, a health issue, bereavement, literally anything you are waking up and going to sleep thinking about. No issue is too small, and it is those that we feel embarrassed to talk about at times that may need to be addressed.
Once you get in touch, I commit generally to contact you the same day, and set up an initial phone chat to arrange our first session.
MEETING IN PERSON
I am available to meet up in person, in West London in Queens Park, NW6, or South London in Peckham, SE15.
And where necessary I will visit you at your own location if it is accessible.
Or we could meet for walking sessions in a local park. Anything is possible !
MEETING REMOTELY
Issues around how to communicate our mental health have been revolutionised in the 21st Century, but never more so than 2020, when personal issues were subsumed by the pandemic, and the feeling that maybe individuals no longer have the right to raise their own issues.
I am here to tell you that your own equilibrium has never been more important, and that help is available in a myriad of more flexible ways than in the past.
As with going to the workplace, or a restaurant or a bar, or on holiday, or to a football or rugby match, the nature of talking therapies are changing out of all proportion.
Where before clients and therapists generally met face to face, this is often now not possible.
And so I also offer a range of opportunities to get together remotely, via zoom, skype, VSee, phone or facetime. I think you will be surprised by how effective these can be.
Because of the extraordinary circumstances brought on in 2020, I now have clients in France, Spain, Germany, Thailand, Dubai and the USA. Some people I will never meet face to face who benefit from weekly or fortnightly sessions and a structure that helps them to grow.
Fees: The cost of a session is between £80-£100 per 60 minute appointment.
There is a sliding scale for clients based on your particular circumstances.
“David is excellent at knowing what his client wants. He made me feel very comfortable from our very first session. I have always felt comfortable sharing anything with David. He has helped and guided me through a very challenging time in my life. I highly recommend having David as a therapist.”
